Pretend Teatime

I well remember teatime
On the screened porch we would sit
My Auntie Jo and me and Mim
My big red stuffed silk cat.
We'd make believe. Set china out
Mim placed cake on the table
While Auntie Jo cut flowers
As long as she was able.
I'm now grown up. Aunt Jo is dead.
My Mim is packed away
But in heart dwell the memories
Of "pretend teatime" days.
